About Us

A canteen service that actually cares about the people it feeds.

Chloroplast Enterprises was built to fix a gap we kept seeing across educational institutes, hostels, and schools — canteens and messes with no standard operating procedures, inconsistent hygiene, and food that was either overpriced or made from raw material whose quality was never maintained.

Why we started

Spend time around institutional canteens and the same problems show up again and again. There is rarely a defined process behind the food — no standard operating procedures, so quality swings from day to day. Hygiene is often an afterthought. And on price, students and institutions usually get the worst of both worlds: the food is either too expensive, or the cost is kept low by quietly cutting the quality of the raw material.

We found this was not limited to college canteens. The exact same pattern repeated in hostel messes and school messes — places where people eat every single meal, and where reliable, honest food matters the most.

  • No standard operating procedures behind the food.
  • Hygiene treated as optional, not a baseline.
  • Either overpriced meals or quietly reduced raw-material quality.
  • The same gaps across canteens, hostel messes, and school messes.

What we built instead

Chloroplast Enterprises exists to serve food we are genuinely confident in. We run our canteens and messes on clear standard operating procedures, so quality and taste stay consistent — and we build every meal on freshly sourced, carefully chosen raw material.

Food we stand behind

We only serve food we would happily eat ourselves — prepared with care from the first ingredient to the final serving.

SOP-driven consistency

Standard operating procedures guide preparation, hygiene, and serving so the experience stays the same, meal after meal.

Fresh, quality sourcing

Raw materials are freshly sourced or prepared in-house wherever possible, and never quietly downgraded to cut cost.

Honest, practical pricing

Menus are planned to stay reasonable while protecting taste, portions, hygiene, and overall service standards.

Our approach

Good food service is built in the small daily details: clean kitchens, disciplined hygiene, steady taste, timely serving, and enough variety to keep meals worth looking forward to. By running to written procedures rather than guesswork, we make that quality repeatable instead of accidental.

We also try to operate responsibly. Wherever the setup allows, we use reusable steel tiffins in our canteens as a practical step to reduce daily waste.

  • Consistent taste, hygiene, and service standards every day.
  • Variety across meals, snacks, and daily canteen items.
  • Fresh sourcing and in-house preparation where possible.
  • Reusable steel tiffins as a practical sustainability step.
